Agency

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Robinhood, your money, and your data.

What is Agency?

A free Mac app from Rallies that runs AI portfolio managers, called agents, in your Robinhood Agentic account. Each agent gets a plan you confirm and a slice of your cash or holdings, then reviews and trades it on its own schedule and writes to you about what it did and why.

What do I need to use it?

A Mac, with Apple silicon or Intel, and a Robinhood Agentic account, the Robinhood account made for outside AI agents. You open it in Robinhood, and Agency trades only in that account, never in your other Robinhood accounts.

What is the first look?

Before any money moves, the agent researches your plan and shows how it would invest it: a split in percentages with the reason for each piece. Nothing is bought. It takes two to three minutes and uses one credit, and when you fund the agent it buys that split.

Does an agent ask me before each trade?

No. A funded agent trades on its own at its reviews, inside its plan and its slice, and every trade shows up with its reason. Trades you ask for in chat wait for your Confirm, so if you’d rather decide each trade yourself, trade through the chat.

When do agents review, and does my Mac need to stay on?

By default at 10 AM Eastern on weekdays, and never more than twice a day. Reviews run on your Mac, so Agency needs to be open and the Mac awake. A review missed while it slept runs once it’s back that day, and orders already at Robinhood, like a resting limit, can fill while it’s off.

Can an agent spend more than I gave it?

No. Its slice is a hard limit the app checks on every order: it spends only the cash it was given, sells only what it holds, and never touches the rest of your account. It can still lose money within its slice.

What can agents trade?

Stocks and ETFs, crypto like Bitcoin, and single calls and puts bought to open. Stock orders can be market, limit or stop, and fill in regular market hours. No shorting, margin, selling options to open, or extended-hours trading.

What does it cost?

The app and chatting are free. Each first look and each review uses one credit; new accounts get 20 free, then it’s $20 for 100. An agent reviewing every weekday uses about $4 a month. Robinhood’s fees and fund expense ratios are separate.

What data leaves my Mac?

Your plans, chats and account details are stored on your Mac. For each reply or review, the relevant context goes through Rallies to the AI model. Rallies keeps your credits and purchases, usage counts, your email if you add it, and a record of how agents trade under a hashed account ID. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Do you sell my data?

No. Rallies doesn't sell your personal data. The Privacy Policy lists what it keeps and why.

Is Agency a financial adviser?

No. Agency isn't a registered investment adviser or a broker. It's software that runs the plan you write and approve, and Robinhood is your broker. Investing can lose money, including everything an agent manages; the Terms cover it.
