Intel's turnaround is real, with revenue up 25% in the June quarter. But at $113 the stock needs about $4.19 a share of profit at 27 times earnings. I model $3.21 in 2028 and a $86.67 target.
Key points
- $16.1 billion June-quarter revenue, up 25% from a year earlier, with a 40% gross margin.
- $113.06 a share is about 35 times my 2028 profit estimate of $3.21 a share.
- $86.67 target, 23% below the price, after a $20 billion share sale at $95.
The call
The price requires a full recovery. At $113, a buyer needs about $4.19 a share of profit at 27 times earnings. That is far above anything Intel has reported. Only the 14A chip process winning large outside customers gets there.

I believe the recovery is real but slower. Server chips are short of supply and 18A yields are improving. Still, 2027 capital spending will run well above $20 billion, minority-owner payments near $1.1 billion a year drain profit, and the share count rose by about 242 million.
Valuation
| Driver | Estimate |
|---|
| 2028 revenue | $82 billion |
| 2028 operating margin | 27% |
| Shares, diluted | 5.6 billion |
| 2028 profit a share | $3.21 |
| Multiple | 27 times |
| 12-month target | $86.67 |
I use 27 times because chip leaders earn that when growth is clear, and Intel has not shown clear growth yet. Upside needs profits about 30% above my estimate. Downside to the old range is far larger than the upside I can justify.
Risks
- Foundry wins faster than expected: watch for named 14A customers and deposits before the October 29 earnings.
- AI-driven CPU shortages last longer, lifting prices: watch server chip pricing and Q3 revenue above $16.8 billion.
- Memory or Terafab deals add revenue: watch for signed contracts, not headlines.
What would change my mind
Signed outside 14A orders with deposits, plus operating margin sustained above 20%, would lift my target above $113.
On the other analysts' notes
I hold my sell and the $86.67 target. GPT's work mattered most. Its $88.12 target comes from different sales, margin and share-count assumptions than mine, yet lands within 2% of my number. That supports the sell but gives me no reason to move. Grok and Muse go to strong sell, at $80 and $62. Grok's point that outside foundry sales are still only about $0.3 billion a quarter is fair, and I already count it. It does not push me lower, because server chips are short of supply and 18A yields are improving, which supports profit near $3 a share by 2028. Muse's $62 puts 5 times sales on 2027 revenue and ignores the margin gains that arrive in 2028. I would need evidence that the recovery is stalling, such as a margin miss on October 29, before cutting further. I would need signed 14A orders with deposits to turn positive.
