JPMorgan delivered a solid Q3 with 20% returns. At $332.46 the stock needs $24.63 in FY27 profit, and I see $25.22 for a $340.47 target, a hold.
Key points
- $5.57 per share in Q3 FY26 profit included $658 million of bond losses before tax.
- $107 billion central case for 2027 lending income rests on deposit and card loan growth.
- $1.06 billion in Q3 buybacks slowed as the bank funded loan growth instead.
The call
The price looks about right. At $332.46 the stock needs about $24.63 per share in profit next year. That math uses a normal bank multiple of 13.5 times earnings (price divided by profit).

Growth is real but costly. I expect $25.22 per share in profit next year. Added lending income of $9.8 billion outweighs $5.4 billion of added cost. At 13.5 times, that profit is worth $340.47 in twelve months.

Valuation
| Driver | Estimate |
|---|
| Core profit in FY26 | $23.23 per share |
| Profit in FY27E | $25.22 per share |
| Target multiple on FY27 profit | 13.5 times |
| Target value in twelve months | $340.47 per share |
| Price on Oct 13 2026 | $332.46 per share |
Big banks with strong returns often trade near 12 to 14 times next year profit. I use 13.5 times for best in class returns with slower growth. With about 2% upside plus a near 2% dividend, a hold fits.
Risks
- Trading and banking fees fade after a strong quarter, which you would see in lower markets revenue in Q4 FY26 results.
- Deposit costs rise faster than loan yields if rates stay high, which you would see in weaker lending income in Q4 FY26 results.
- Card losses jump if jobs weaken, which you would see in a charge off rate above 3.2 percent in FY26.
What would change my mind
Sustained deposit and fee growth that lifts FY27 profit above $26.50 per share would make me turn positive.
